Hello there

Alright, so I think by now, for anyone (if anyone) who is still following this blog, you have realized that I am absolutely rubbish at keeping this going with regular posts. A lot has been going on though. I've recently made a trip to immigration to see if I can extend my stay. They are currently reviewing my case, but who knows what the outcome will be?

To make up for such a long absence, here are some more photos from Kerry.

Exploring the castle

I couldn't just NOT climb up the old ruined stairs...

Beautiful view from the castle...

Kerry

Hello people! So, there was no internet in Kerry which is why I haven't posted anything new, but I'm here now and have plenty to show for it!

We stayed in a large house in Portmagee.

This is the lovely view from my room early in the morning.

We hiked, biked, fished, and bodyboarded for the whole week. :)
From Valentia Island to see the slate quarry...And yes, that is a statue of Mary at the top...

To the top of Bray head on Valentia Island. It was a really long hike...

But the views at the top were completely worth it.

And like I said before, we went bodyboarding. We mainly stuck to St. Finian's Bay, as it had better waves. I didn't get too many pictures of bodyboarding (too busy having fun) but here are a few you can see.

I'll have more photos from our trip soon, but I'll leave you with these for now. :)

Tomorrow we are off to Kerry! I can't wait, I'm so excited! To pass the time, I thought I'd share some random beach photos with you all. :)

I'll have photos of Kerry in my next post, so stay tuned.

Hello world!

So I realized today that its been nearly two weeks since my last post. :) My bad. Hopefully it won't happen again, but I had a very good reason as I've been sick. I promise to keep to at least one weekly post from now on. I know, this is the least interesting blog at the moment, but hopefully it will get better as my trip to Portmagee, Co. Kerry is coming up soon. YAY!! I'm very much looking forward to bodyboarding while I'm there. I'll take loads of pictures, hopefully none of which will include me wiping out in the waves.

MMmmmm

So after a weekend of painting the lounge, fixing the T.V., and putting everything back in its place, we decided to treat ourselves by going out to dinner. We went to this fantastic place called Gourmet Burger. Think Chili's or Applebees only specifically serving burgers. The food was amazing. My sister Bria got battered/fried mushrooms as a starter. She convinced me to try one and I'll admit, they were actually pretty good. :P
I got myself a classic Bacon and Cheddar burger. It was awesome! It came with a side of fries sprinkled in sea salt with a Garlic Mayo dipping sauce. I'm so proud to say I managed to finish the whole thing. :D Did I take any pictures of this fabulous restaurant you ask? No I didn't. I was too busy eating. Next time though.

Views from my room

Here's a photo taken from my bedroom window of the front garden.

And here's my nephews taking over my bedroom. :}

I'll post more photos within the next couple of days, but for now you'll just have to enjoy what's here. :)

First Post- The arrival of Ninja!

So after 17 hours of travel I have safely arrived.  It's amazing that even though most of those hours are me just sitting pretty, I can still feel so wrecked afterwards.  I managed to drop my carry on bag about 12 times within just arriving into Portland's Airport.  Frustrating and embarrassing, yes, but not enough to make me blame fellow passengers. It amazes me how angry people can get at the people around them.  There was this one fellow at the beginning of the trip that called the people surrounding him every curse known to man.  But with the bad, comes the good, and I had a few kind hearted people talk to me, leaving me with a more positive outlook for the next round of crazies that would come onto my flight.

Maybe I'm the only one that does this, but I always walk into any airport and look for Celeb look a likes.  When I was waiting to check in, I was nearly positive Lance Armstrong was in front of me.  I like to think of it as a way to keep my mind sharp, in case the real deal comes along. :)

So there you have it. I'm very proud to say that I was able to rough out such a long flight with its ups and downs...(mystery airplane food anyone?).  I'm also glad its over, so I have the next few months to chill and hang out with my family.  I'll keep you all updated with my adventures as best I can. :) Stay tuned.
